I had to go back to 35 years ago (around 1985), about the time I was 10 years old. I was born in Bangkok, but was very familiar with Nonthaburi province. Each time I went to the market and had the opportunity to buy durian with my mom. When my mom asked the durian seller, “Where does the durian come from?” The seller always said “From Nonthaburi Province”. Durian is a fruit that has built a reputation for Nonthaburi for ages. The durian species that is known throughout the country, including foreigners, is Monthong Durian.
